Be a part of the the world-renowned Jacaranda Festival held yearly in Grafton, Northern Rivers New South Wales, from Friday, October 30th and concludes on Sunday, 8th November.

The festival brings flowers competition, parades, concerts, boats, film festival, fun run and more events together. This is a festival set to express the people’s thanksgiving for the generosity with which nature blesses this part of the globe. Inaugurated in 1934, this was the first of Australia’s folk festivals and is based upon the magnificent spectacle of the hundreds of lilac-blossomed trees which grow in Grafton’s broad tree lined avenues. Dont miss this unique and oldest celebration in Grafton.

Came across campingworld tips today and thought it would be fun to think about pets and campervan. Do they go along together? Yes and No.

Yes for fluffy who loves the state of riding on vehicles. and a no no no for fluffy who isn’t keen even on a regular automobile. More Rvers are now traveling with pets and there are also increasing campervan parks that allow pets.

If you are indeed bringing your pet or pets on your vacation make sure you bring along your pet’s favorite bed and toys so it will feel at home on the road. No-spill food and water bowls make the experience even easier. Never let your pets outside your RV without a leash, and never leave them unattended.

If you are renting out a campervan in Australia, check it with campervan hire for vehicles that allow pets.

Perth - Aside from its 400 hectares of virgin bush land and gardens, Swan River, Perth museums and other Perth must sees. Your mind’s backyard must be wondering of other stuff to do in Perth which are free as much as possible. I thought campervan vacationers can also set a quick thought about Perth’s wildlife. Lake Monger is 10 minutes away from the city, it is an ideal base to feed your eyes of its magnificent waterbirds including the emblem of Western Australia – the black swan.

Visit one of Australia’s famous zoos located five minutes away from the central business district of Perth. It started opening in 1898 and from that day it haven’t closed its doors. It is open every day from nine in the morning until five of the afternoon. The zoo cost $20 for adults and $10 for children between four to fifteen years old. Children below four years are free so bring them all if you intend to keep an eye on them while on animals. The zoos has food and drinks so you don’t have to worry about not having lunch or breakfast. Sure its a good way though to spend a meal beside your motorhome hire vehicle. If you wanted a more personal and up close wildlife experience like making friends with wallabies, cuddling koalas, feeding the deers and more, the Caversham Wildlife Park can be perfect.

RV Boondocking USA

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by greengirlsydney on 26-10-2009

Campgrounds or caravan parks in USA like Australia and New Zealand would mostly require minimum days of stay. Some 3days, others require a week. Say you do not have the luxury of time to observe this, and you wanted a roaming RV vacation and rented a USA RV that has everything (toilet, shower, hot & cold water) that should earn convenience while doing a “free camping”. Without these facilities, you should consider where to park or stay for the night, some place that can provide access to basic facilities.

In USA “free camping” is a lot like “boondocking” with definitions pertaining as free camping itself, overnight RV parking at truck stops, and places that do not have RV hookup facilities are referred to as boondocking. Boondocking is posssible in USA but it doesn’t mean everywhere…or campgrounds would be useless. Boondocking is allowed anywhere on federal public lands within 300 feet of any established road, except where otherwise restricted. US National Parks DO NOT allow overnight parking and boondocking. There are limited private campgrounds that allow overnight parking. Farms, ranches and other private lands could allow you for a fee you can’t complain.
