The 32nd Annual Pensacola Seafood Festival

The Fiesta of Five Flags presents the 2009 Pensacola Seafood Festival in historic Seville Square area in downtown Pensacola. The fantastic seafood for which the Gulf Coast is famous will be the highlight of the weekend. Carefully selected food vendors offer a wide variety of seafood dishes and other festival fare. Some highlights of this year’s menu include southern style crab cakes, gator bites, blackened mahi mahi, bang bang shrimp, fried crawfish pistolettes, shrimp creole, boudin balls, and shark on a stick.

With more than 180 arts and crafts vendors, the Pensacola Seafood Festival is also one of the largest arts and crafts fairs in Northwest Florida. Live musical performances by local and regional acts are held throughout the festival in Fountain Park adjacent to Seville Square. The Pensacola Seafood Festival also offers cooking demonstrations, a 5K run/walk, the Splash Dogs competition, 2009 Redfish Cup Championship, a children’s area, and other activities will be location in Pensacola News Journal Pelican Park (Bartram Park).

Royal Darwin Show (July 23-25)

blog post photo One of the remaining genuine outback at the top end of the Northern Territory will be sharing the delights of it’s premier events. Come to Darwin Australia and experience the premier event on the Top End community calendar, where city and country come together for three days of competition, entertainment and displays of primary industry, horticulture, art, craft, cooking and photography - The 58th Royal Darwin Show. The official opening is Friday July 24 followed by a parade of livestock and machinery. Visitors of the Royal Darwin Show can enjoy equestrian events, sideshow rides, varied live entertainment and a wide assortment of food and drink stalls that reflect the multicultural nature of Darwin.

Two hundred fourty stalls and counting are expected to display variety of products and information and the animal nursery is extremely popular. Horses feature throughout from dressage and show jumping to working stock horses and polocrosse matches. The show closes with a spectacular fireworks finale.
